| France | Exchange with Ecole Alsacienne. – Every year. 2 weeks in February, 2 weeks in March. | ||||
| – French students immersed in SPS life in February, Americans hosted by French families in Paris in March, field trips organized every day with SPS chaperone. | |||||
| – Participants: 5-10 students, 1-2 chaperones. | |||||

* are in première or seconde (approximately
16+ years old); |
|||||
* come to SPS Saturday, 28 January 2006 and stay until
Saturday, 11 February 2006; |
|||||
* stay in the dorms, hopefully in or relatively close to
the dorm of their SPS host (special arrangements can be made with bunk
beds, etc.); |
|||||
* are
hosted by the SPS student who will stay with them in Paris. |
|||||
The French guests will spend Winter Weekend
with their American hosts. |

the American students |
|||||
* are in a cross section of Forms, with priority given
to upper formers; |
|||||
* arrive Paris Monday, 6 March 2006. Return to the USA
on Monday, 19 March 2006; |
|||||
* stay with the family of their Ecole Alsacienne counterpart; |
|||||
* are provided with all meals by their French family and
would receive from their family a special metro/bus ticket for the duration
of their stay which will cover all transportation costs (except for taxis)
within Paris; |
|||||
* spend
approximately 30% of the “school days” in
Paris involved in different aspects of school life (for example: shadowing
the French host, observing English classes, attending classes of specific
interest, observing in the elementary school section of the Ecole Alsacienne).
The time spent at the school will be limited to half-days; |
|||||

when not involved with specific school activities, the SPS group
will set up mini-excursions
to go
on together, within Paris,
so that all the “must-see” sights and exhibits are seen.
Dr. Berkley Latimer will be the chaperone. He will give the 2 week program
a unique 5th Form Humanities twist; perfect for 5th formers! Time will
be reserved also for free afternoons when everyone can set up their own
itinerary (all group trips, activities and excursions are paid for by
the Exchange budget). Below is a sample list of excursions that previous
